These Boots are Made for Walkin’

We officially have 2 walkers!

Claire has been up and at ’em for a couple of weeks now.  Yes, I’m a bad mom for not documenting the exact day she stated, but I honestly can’t even say.  It was so gradual, from a few steps here and there from me to Christian, now all of the sudden it seems to walking circles around the living room, maybe stopping to give me a hug or play with a toy before she’s on her way again.  It’s cute, exciting, and awesome.
Claire literally spends 75% of her day doing laps around the room.  She hasn’t learned to stand directly from the floor yet, but she can pull up and stand from even the lowest items.  She walks around babbling and giggling all day.

This past weekend we paid a visit to our Dallas family, who graciously volunteered to baby sit for the girls while C and I went car shopping.  They got the best surprise ever when Rachel took her first real steps right there in Mimi and Pop’s living room.  And she’s only going to go up from there.  She’s testing herself by walking short distances, and her favorite place to go is anywhere she can get a hug from Mommy, teetering towards me with a huge grin on her face.  Although she showed absolutely no interest when Claire first started walking, I knew it wouldn’t be long before she started looking at her and thinking, “Man, I really want to do that too!”  And here we are.
Rachel always walks with her arm in the air, as if she’s still holding one of our hands.  So cute! Gotta keep that balance!  We’re guessing she was tired of watching Claire walk circles around her and wanted to join in on the fun.  And fun it is!
