Looks like a lot of fun!
It was, and a much needed break!
You ended it on a perfect note! HAHAHA!
There is nothing but fields on the 3 hours drive between Memphis and Nashville, though I’ve NEVER seen so many Adult Bookstore billboards!
I experienced the same thing driving from Texas to North Carolina and again from NC to DC. So funny.
I suddenly want pizza. Yum! That crammed SUV pic is hilarious, especially with your SIL’s face back there!
Looks like a great time and a great way to spend time with family. I’m thinking of a girl’s getaway right now….
Mandi
It was much needed! And I could eat pizza every day of my life, I love it so!
The Kum and Go’s crack me UP.
Seriously, why would you change the spelling like that???
What? You’ve never heard of Kum and Go? It’s pretty funny but a very common gas station.
We don’t have them here in Texas. So funny.
Omg Cs mom is gorgeous!!
Also? What’s with that sign? I so would not go there.
She is a very pretty lady. Yeah, I wouldn’t go there either. Not sure what I would get, if you know what I mean.
LOL. LOVE that you pointed out your SIL in that picture because that is exactly where my eyes rested.
On our cross country trip last year we saw quite a few of those Kum and Go”s and every single time, my husband and I would look at each other like “what???” LOL
PS Wanted to thank you for your thoughtful comment on my guest post on Scary Mommy.
You’re welcome! We never got tired of laughing about the Kum n Go’s.
I recognize that view in the back seat. And the “Kum and Go.” Wow. That just says it all.
Bwahhh ha ha!! These are great! Your SIL looks like she is about to kill you! And that car wash? Well, lets just say thats something!
I don’t know what’s worse, that it’s called the “Kum & Go” or that gas in Iowa is only $3.59.
What is it in your neck of the woods? I think that’s pretty close to what it is here in TX, maybe a smidge less.
What part of Iowa were you in? I almost fell out when I moved to Sioux falls and realized they had gas stations named Kum and go. I just thought really????
We were near Estherville and Dolliver, way north, just minutes from Minnesota. The weather was absolutely perfect and a nice break from the heat here!
Ha ha! Yeah, we have those things in KS, too. America’s heartland.
How much do I love your little family picture in the top right corner? THISMUCH.
Aw, thanks. They are the handiwork of my sister in law and personal design guru — yes, the one glaring at me in the photo. I swear she’s not evil.
Just out of curiousity…was the skinnydipping sign a billboard above the Kum & Go gas station?
Haha, no, but that would have been awesome. It was above the “assisted melons” sign, which prompted my 13 year old niece to say, “I’ve got your assisted melons right here, baby!”
HA! Two of my friends are from Iowa and I thought they were joking when they told me about Kum & Go. It sounds like a bad porno!
I’m originally from Iowa, and when we were in college, all my friends would say they were walking down to the Spurt and Split. Always knew which convenience store they were visiting.
No way! So funny. My dad AND my husband’s families are both from Iowa. I kinda think it’s the center of the universe. Seems like almost everyone I know is from there somewhere down the line…
